Project Overview

A busy multi-location professional practice faced a catastrophic server failure that rendered their critical Practice Management Software (PMS) inaccessible. With appointments booked back-to-back and client history locked away on a crashed drive, the firm was facing a complete operational standstill and significant revenue loss.

Upon initial assessment, it was discovered that the previous IT provider’s local backups had been failing silently for weeks. SERVEITPRO was engaged on an emergency basis to salvage the corrupted database, restore access to client records, and rebuild the infrastructure to prevent future disasters.

What we did

  • Emergency Data Forensics: Conducted a sector-by-sector scan of the failed drives to successfully recover the corrupted SQL database.
  • Virtual Server Deployment: Spun up a temporary cloud environment to allow staff to access schedules and billing within 4 hours.
  • Infrastructure Overhaul: Replaced aging hardware with a redundant (RAID) server architecture to eliminate single points of failure.
  • 3-2-1 Backup Implementation: Installed an immutable off-site backup system that protects against both hardware failure and ransomware.
  • Security Hardening: Implemented Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) across all user accounts to secure patient/client confidentiality.
  • Zero Data Loss: Successfully restored 100% of historical records and emails, allowing the practice to open on time the next morning.
